"Red Sea International" Becomes a Member of the "World Travel & Tourism Council"

“The Red Sea International”—the developer of the world’s most ambitious renewable tourism projects, “The Red Sea” and “Amala”—has become a destination partner of the World Travel & Tourism Council.

The World Travel & Tourism Council is the leading authority on the economic and social contribution of travel and tourism globally. It promotes the sustainable growth of the sector and works directly with governments and international organizations to create new jobs, boost exports, and foster prosperity. Red Sea International will also work with the Board to highlight opportunities in the revitalized travel and tourism sector.

Regarding the unique opportunity that Red Sea International will gain from this partnership, Tracy Lanza, the group’s Executive Director of Global Brand and Marketing, said that our partnership with the World Travel and Tourism Council will help us draw global attention to the natural beauty and local cultural heritage of the Red Sea coast in the Kingdom.

She added: “At our destinations, ‘Red Sea’ and ‘Amala,” we have chosen to go beyond sustainability in our quest to make a positive and regenerative impact on the environment and society. This partnership allows us to highlight the scale of our achievements in the tourism sector, demonstrate that there is a more effective way to develop and operate, and encourage others to continue working toward regenerative tourism for the benefit of people and nature.”.

This collaboration provides Red Sea International with an opportunity to exchange knowledge and implement best practices with an inspiring group of industry leaders and experts who share its vision for a more sustainable future in the tourism sector. The Destinations Council includes several partners, such as the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, NEOM, and AlUla, as well as Atout France, Brand USA, Visit California, the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, Visit Rwanda, Trespana, and many others.

Through this partnership, Red Sea International can also benefit from the World Travel & Tourism Council’s annual economic impact report, which covers more than 185 countries and 26 regions worldwide, as well as the company’s ability to lead the Council’s strategic initiatives related to travel and mobility, sustainable futures, and digital and technological transformation.

For her part, Julia Simpson, President and CEO of the World Travel & Tourism Council, said: , “Red Sea International’s commitment to environmental conservation and the development of the economy and society, in addition to its hard work in achieving sustainable tourism, is fully aligned with our mission to maximize opportunities for inclusive and sustainable growth in travel. Together, we will ensure the positive development of tourism.”

It is worth noting that upon their completion in 2030, the “Red Sea” and “Amala,” both developed by Red Sea International, are expected to create 120,000 jobs and welcome up to 1.5 million tourists annually, thereby boosting the local economy and providing opportunities for sustainable growth. In addition, a focus on sustainable tourism practices will ensure that the region’s natural beauty and resources are preserved for future generations to enjoy.
