The Red Sea International Film Festival celebrates women in cinema and continues its program with premieres of a selection of films

Now in its fourth edition, the Red Sea International Film Festival continues its program at its vibrant new venue in historic Jeddah’s “Al-Balad” district—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—featuring a number of premieres of diverse films, drawing large crowds of visitors, filmmakers, and production crews.
The events include the premieres of Saudi films, through which the Saudi film industry has demonstrated a high level of competitiveness in film production; among the most notable are “Salma and Qamar” and “Hobal,” as well as the documentary “The Memory of Asir.”
The Red Sea International Film Festival hosted the seventh edition of the “Women in Film” gala at the Jeddah Yacht Club, an event that honors pioneering female voices in the local and global film industry and inspires future generations of female talent in the Arab world, Africa, and Asia.
The event underscored the Red Sea Film Festival’s commitment to supporting women and advancing their role in this vital sector, highlighting their achievements both in front of and behind the camera.
Jumana Al-Rashed, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Red Sea Film Foundation, expressed her pride in hosting this event, emphasizing that empowering women and celebrating their creativity is an integral part of our identity and values, and looking forward to continuing this approach through the festival’s activities.
The ceremony honored outstanding achievements, as the evening embodied the festival’s commitment to celebrating women’s talent and highlighting their impact on shaping the global film industry, reflecting the Kingdom’s vision of supporting creativity and innovation across various cultural and artistic fields.
